By day, I’m a creative strategist. By night (and most weekends), I’m the candle maker behind Santai Candles. Like most people in Singapore, my days moved fast. Too fast. I found it hard to switch my brain off after work, always thinking about the next deadline, the next campaign, the next “thing.”
That’s when I picked up candle-making. At first, it was just a hobby. I’d spend my weekends playing “mad scientist” in the kitchen... mixing scents, blending notes that felt good according to my mood, and trying to bottle the way I wanted my space to feel. Sometimes warm and grounding, sometimes light and fresh, always with a little personality.
One thing led to another. A small batch here, a gift for a friend there, and before I knew it, that little side-project started earning enough to become something real.
Now, what was once just a way to take my mind off work has become something I’m proud to share with you: small-batch, hand-poured candles made in Singapore, crafted for the moments you want to keep.
Because if there’s one thing candle-making has taught me, it’s that slowing down isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.
